|Friends and Family,
I hope you all are doing well and had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday, celebrating our Risen Savior!
This last month was chock-full of greatness. At the beginning of the month Mom, Dad and Carol (my aunt) came for a visit. They, without a doubt, got the full African experience. We saw elephants at a game reserve, traveled many kilometers across the less-than-comfortable West African roads, and experienced power outages on a fairly regular basis while enduring temps in excess of 100 degrees. And they did this with smiles on their faces. My family members are a bunch of troopers!! It was so much fun introducing them to my African friends and church. And I was blessed that Mom got to stay until the end of the month.
During the month of March, we were able to make a trip out to a village where we would love to work. Some friends of ours have family out there, so they went with us to make the introductions. In Africa, introductions are HUGE! It was a good trip and we were able to meet various folks/families and observe part of a traditional funeral ceremony. This same family has also set us up with connections in another village. Pray with us as we make decisions on how to get involved and share Truth with those in these villages. We are excited about the possibilities and where the Lord will lead.
Over the next month, our team will be going through some major transitions. Our current supervisors will be headed back to the US for their Stateside assignment and I will be assuming the role of Team Strategy Leader (TSL). In the next two weeks we will be having marathon meetings, going over tons of information and talking through what ministry will be looking like, along with discussing the role and responsibility of the TSL. Please be lifting up our last few weeks with Shad, Melissa and the fam. Pray for them as they pack up their lives and say their goodbyes. Ask that the Father would overwhelm them with an incredible sense of peace as they leave their home of 4 years. And please be lifting up those of us staying here. Ask that the Father would give wisdom as Marie, Karissa and I make decisions for how best to reach the Jula and as I assume the TSL role.
Unreached People Groups of Burkina
Recently, all of our personnel in Burkina met to discuss how we would target the groups that have never heard the gospel. There are many groups in our country that have no believers working among them. We are encouraging our national churches to adopt one of these groups and to actively be engaging them with the gospel. But even with our national partners, the task is still huge. Would you join us in praying for the Lord to bring US churches to partner with us and our national brothers and sisters?
Is the Lord calling your church to engage a people group and commit to sharing the message of Jesus with them, here in Burkina? Or would you, as an individual, consider coming out to work alongside our team as we seek to reach the Jula?
If the Lord is leading you in either or those directions, please feel free to email me about the possibilities!
The next few months promise to be busy as we make more village trips, continue with ESL classes, and look to host a conference for the women in our churches on how to use storying as a means of sharing the gospel. April and May will be exciting!
Thank you for partnering with me and committing to lift up the Jula people. You are such a vital part.
I would love to hear from you and know how I can be lifting you up!
